160 Unusual Things to See in Ontario ~ Creemore Jail

Also known as the "little-lockup," this tiny jail was constructed around 1892 at an apparent cost of $425.20. Measuring only 4.5 x 6 meters, it's the smallest jail in Ontario and may be the smallest in North America. Inside houses only three tiny cells.

The jail is free to visit and go inside. The cells display the jail's small but mighty history in the town of Creemore. It was utilized as such until 1940, before closing and reopening as a tourist attraction in 1972.
