I Teach ~ Needle Crafts

At our next Handcrafts event I'm bring the sampler afghan project I've been working on. I actually have had the pattern  forever  and have made some of the squares for other projects. I am finally going to create the entire project. The next Needle Crafts Event by The St Thomas HUB is on Tuesday, July 26 from 1-6 pm at 49 John St, St Thomas, ON N5P 2X2, Canada I hope you can join us. Come out and work on your UFO* projects that have been waiting patiently to be finished. Many knitting projects just need that last row or tie offs done, back stitching on a cross stitch. Bring that lap quilt you have put off. There will be teachers available to teach you how to crochet or cross stitch or sometimes other needle crafts! Let us know if you are interested in taking a beginner class. I have several crochet kits available for sale at the Hub including handy face cloths, ear warmers with an adorable bow and an easy toque. These kits are perfect even for beginners. Right now I am worki...

Crocheting Finish for Dec 2018

Over a year ago my grandmother gave me a package with some crocheted squares and a pattern book and asked me if I would finish off the project.  It has taken quite a while . . . but . . . my new Cathedral Window tablecloth had place of honour on my dining room table over Christmas.

One crocheting finish in November 2018 . . .

. . . and it has gone to its forever home.

I Love Crochet

Hello everyone. I hope you are enjoying your Monday. Thank you for approving my membership to the group. Right now I am busy tidying my craft room and getting a little stitching done. My dear hubby is a long-distance driver and our boys are all grown so I have quite a bit of time on my hands for crafts. One of the crafts I truly love is crochet. The last project I finished was a large mystery CAL afghan. It was given as a gift last Christmas. My current WIP is making special scarves for a fundraiser. When this project is done, I have several in the wings waiting. I'm planning to make some shopping bags using up my leftover bits of crochet cotton and I have about 100 magazines and pattern books to sort through and decide what to keep and what to pass on to someone else. I have been searching for a pattern for an large oval tablecloth using size 10 cotton but have had no luck so far.

Crochet Finishes for September 2014

I finally finished all the Mystery Crochet-along strips and turned them into two afghans. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/holidaymysterygifts/info

May 2014: Crocheting

Yes, I really am behind in posting my finishes for the past year.  This afghan panel is part of a mystery crochet along at Holiday Mystery Gifts .  When I finished all the panels I was able to make 2 afghans from them.  I really love the texture of this particular strip.

The Great Pintrest Challenge #2

For my second Pintrest challenge I have chosen this pin:   https://www.pinterest.com/pin/255368241346458109/ The video is excellent and you can also follow the written instructions here:   http://naztazia.com/diy-free-pattern-crochet-pink-ribbon-awareness-breast-cancer-scarf.pdf Here's what I've done so far . . .

December Afghan Block of the Month

This is the very lst block of the AFghan Block of the Month I have been doing at  http://www.crochetmagazine.com/crochet_block.php?id=10 What will I do with myself now?  I know, a three block each month crochet along from Ravelry at  http://www.ravelry.com/groups/2014-crochet-block-a-month-cal

December crochet finishes

I can't believe it.  I felt like I was knitting and crocheting constantly in December but apparently I was mistaken.  This colourful square is from  http://www.crochetmagazine.com/crochet_block.php?id=9 . The variegated section is the string I finished for an mystery afghan crochet-along at  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/holidaymysterygifts/

Just a wee bit of crochet in November

Yep, this is it.  Only two finishes in November.  I keep holding off on starting any new crochet projects because I am on the lookout for a vintage table cloth pattern, preferably done in motifs that are stitched together as you go.  My new dining room table is bigger than my last one and the tablecloths I have just look so small.  I definitely need a new bigger tablecloth . . . I just want it to look old.  If you have any thoughts or see a pattern online that I might like, please let me know. This is the May afghan block from crochetmagazine.com.  You can see the pattern here . The variegated strip is the June mystery crochet along strip at Holiday Mystery Gifts .

Nothing Exciting Goin' On . . .

I've been run off my feet this week already . . . and yet I haven't accomplished much.  At least that's the way it feels.  Do you ever have days like that?  Or weeks? I'm working my Dreaded To Do List but only seem to be knocking off one day every day.  Usually I can make a couple of back dates disappear.  Monday's slow down involved running errands.  Tuesday's slow down involved swapping photos . . . actually we met up with our laptops, USB drives, photo cards and external hard drives and went through each others photos of in common events.  Its a great way to snag photos of yourself (because you know you didn't have any) and interesting shots you missed.  Today I just seem to be wasting time.  A few extra minutes on the phone.  A few extra minutes on the computer.  Apparently all those few minutes add up quickly. According to my Dreaded To Do List today is June 6th.  And the really sad part is that a lot of chores got lef...
