3.0 Ok The staff were friendly and helpful. My grandmother always used to say "if you take care of the corners, the rest will take care of itself." The corners were dirty. Motel had a general uncared for look and feel. I know this rating makes it sound like I wasn't happy with the motel. It was a nice hotel but you could tell there was not enough staff or perhaps enough interest in keeping things to a high standard. There was a nice breakfast. It is situated near lots of restaurants. But . . .  The staff appear to be a family with young children living in the hotel and they looked exhausted when we checked in. Our breakfast was served in one corner of a beautifully furnished lounge/restaurant which was shut down. I think if that restaurant were to reopen and there was enough staff to take care of the property properly it would have made a huge difference. The price was right. We paid $71.10 + taxes & fees = $83.55. Not our best deal on this tri...

Three lessons learned today.   #1  Don't try and cross southern Quebec and Maine on the same day.  They are both fascinating drives and we stopped way too many times.  This lead to us having to call our hotel and set up a late check in.  More on that later. #2  Time zones are confusing.  We couldn't figure out why the GPS informed us we would arrive at the hotel at 9:24 pm when we knew that was an hour later than we had planned.  Forgot to plan in the time zone . . . duh! Even when I pick a hotel or motel that turns out to be even less than expected, I usually find something amusing or even downright funny to say about our adventures in that particular under par establishment.  I can't think of anything amusing to say about the Canada International Hotel in Cornwall ON.  It is just simply unloved and uncared for. We are on holiday.  Yay!  Dear hubby and I are driving to the east coast, exploring as much as possible, and returning home in 14 days. I am an organizer so I created an envelope for each day of our trip and put all the pertinent information and maps in each. At 6 am this morning we opened the envelope for Day 1 . . .  Such a beautiful part of the province.  Hal even let me drive my car for a couple of hours.  That almost never happens.  But it gave him a chance to just sight see without having to watch where he was going.
