Hal and I enjoyed a leisurely tour up to Manitoulin Island in June of 2017.  I have only one word of advice.  Manitoulin may be a small island but you cannot see everything in a day.   We really enjoyed our trip on the Che-cheemaun to the island.  As a special, and unexpected treat, there was a bluegrass band travelling to the island for a festival on the weekend and they entertained in the lounge during our trip.  Even more unexpected was when the Captain picked up a banjo and joined in.  We assumed someone with experience was handling the boat.     We stayed at My Friends Inn Manitoulin.  When we arrived at the motel there was no one around.  The neighbour lady hollered from her yard "do you need to check in?"  She came across to the motel and apologized that the owner wasn't there.  Apparently she was running a very important errand.  She gave us room keys and le...
