Sometimes we just get in the van and drive . . .

When we were raising our own kids and we needed a day out we would pack some food and drive.  We never knew where we would end up and really we didn't care all that much.  We were out for adventure. These days we like to do the same thing with our grandsons.  Sometimes trips are organized for letterboxing purposes but sometimes we just get in the van with a cooler full of drinks and snacks and set forth.  On May 21st we thought we would head toward Brantford to see the Bell Homestead.  Of course we took the scenic route. I love this sign. We stopped at the Courtland Bakery for a treat. Not sure where we spotted these cuties . . . but we had to stop for a visit and photos. Delhi I have photos of my sons in a tobacco leaf cut out board but its gone now. Too bad.  That would have been funny to match the photo with one of my grandsons. We stopped at a park somewhere.  I don't know where we were half the time ....

The Day that Lunch at Akita Sushi Got Out of Control

Through the miracle of Facebook we set up an event . . . our friend Anne finally had a day off and wanted to go to Akita Sushi.  Why not see if anyone else wants to go? It started off with two tables and about 10 of us . . .  . . . but people kept arriving . . . and the servers had to bring in more chairs . . .  . . . and more dishes and we kept squishing closer together . . .  . . . and then they brought in another table and more chairs and an extra server . . .  . . . but I think Anne (waving) had a really good time.

Fanshawe Pioneer Village

Greg's family took me on an adventure to Fanshawe Pioneer Village for Mothers' Day.  It was only the second time I've ever been there and I have to say the place is great.  Because it was early in the season not every exhibit was open.  That's okay because there was still a ton of things to see and moose tracks ice cream.  What more could a grandmother want?

Pink Scrappers' Relay for Life Yard Sale and Barbecue

On May 12th one team, headed by Joyce (aka Mom) and Connie ran a yard sale to raise funds for our Relay for Life Team, and another team, headed by Paula, ran a barbecue at Rona.  Thank you Rona!!!!!!  Both were a big success.
