Hal had his first real week's vacation this week. Real because, while he has been out of work for a very long time , this time he had a week of not working that he had earned, it was due to him and we were able to enjoy some adventures.
Hal was supposed to be home Friday morning but, like the best laid of plans, a few things got in the way. By the time he got home Friday evening I had to drag him back out to run a few errands in preparation for our vacation. After our errands were done we picked up some pizza and vodka and relaxed for the rest of the evening.
Early to rise on Saturday morning because we both needed hair cuts before packing for a weekend in Wallaceburg to attend the wedding of our nephew Shawn and his fiance Shauna. We made it to the hotel in good time and changed into our wedding attire before going out to reconnect with relatives and witness the big event.
The weather was stunning. The ceremony was held in a small grove of big shady trees. I love the bride's gown.
The dinner and reception were held at the Oaks Inn as well. Supper was excellent and it was so great to visit with relatives we see so rarely.
You know how "they" always do the clinking of glasses to get the bride and groom to kiss? Shawn and Shauna would only kiss if you broke balloons containing dares to be accomplished or trivia questions about the bride and groom that had to be answered correctly. I thought that was so clever.
As you can tell, we had a wonderful time.
