We are now in getting home mode so a lot of driving today.
Our first stop was to check out the Garrison district in Fredericton. And look . . . another lighthouse.
We took the tour at Covered Bridge Potato Chips factory and shop in Hartland NB. It is an old fashioned kettle chip company with old country taste and tradition. It was really fascinating to watch them make the chips. And delicious. We did a little bit of shopping in the gift shop on our way out.
We couldn't leave the area without checking in at the Hartland Covered Bridge which is the world's longest covered bridge at 1,282 feet (391 meters) long.
The Petit-Sault Blockhouse in Edmunston NB has a very interesting history.
We finally reached Quebec City and checked into our motel for the night. Sadly, Quebec City left us with a bad impression. We were so tired from driving and wanted to order in some food. There was no place in the area open at 9 pm except a pizza restaurant. I tried to order but was by the person answering the phone that no one there spoke English. Guess what! Hawaiian pizza is the same in French and English . . . sigh. In frustration, I went down to the front desk to ask for help finding food. The lady at the desk called the pizza restaurant and placed our order. Its a good thing we were starving because the salad was awful and the pizza was just okay. Let's just say we didn't put the leftovers in the cooler to snack on the next day . . . and I really love cold pizza for breakfast. The restaurant is Pizzeria Stratos.
