Creating artists . . .

I really do enjoy going to the St. Thomas Art Centre. It is a treasure for our community. We often take the boys to see what is new because the exhibitions change frequently.

I've added a little interactivity to our visits recently to involve the boys more in art. Now when we go we take sketch pads and pencils (from the dollar store) and encourage them to sketch out the photos, paintings and art pieces that they really like.

When we come home I get out the paints and we spend some enjoyable time recreating what we saw. Sometimes the boys put their own twist on their creations which really makes me happy.

Take your kids to the Art Centre . . . and don't forget the sketch books . . .

Here's this week's challenge: Your challenge this week is to S.P.A.C.E. your paper - - and I mean ALL of your paper: cardstock, patterned paper, specialty papers, and all those SCRAPS! SORT: Bring all of your paper to one area. Sort it all into piles: KEEP, SELL, DONATE, TRASH PURGE: bag up, and assign a price to paper bundles that you want to SELL at a garage sale or online, and put the bags in the garage sale box.
