Ten coldest temperatures in Canada
Canadians have a real love-hate relationship with winter so to take the chill off of your day we have put together a list of the top 10 coldest days ever recorded in Canada.
Snag in the Yukon set the record for the lowest temperature in Canada at at -62.8° C in February, 1947. For more than a week, cold air from northeastern Siberia stalled over northern Canada. At that temperature when you exhale, the air makes a hissing sound as it freezes and creates vapour trails that can extended 100 to 500 metres above the ground. At this temperature exposed skin will freeze in less than three minutes.
