By 12ish we were organized, packed and out the door for our mini-letterboxing-vacation-adventure. We stopped at Walmart to load up on snacks . . . some healthy and some not quite so healthy . . . but all good. We had lunch at Wendy's and then hit the road . . . looking for adventures.
Our first stop was Flamborough ON. The letterbox we were looking for was definitely missing . . . but as is often the case while letterboxing, the clues had lead us to the ruins of the first paper mill in Ontario. Out came the camera.
Next stop was Ancaster ON in search of a box called Out for a Fly. It was a twisty, turny, up and down drive to the secret location but we found it . . . the location that is. We did not find the box. Was it gone? Or is it just that we were directionally challenged? I just don't know. Loved the drive.
We moved on to Hamilton ON where our luck changed. First find was He Can't be ALL Bad! and the hand-carved stamps hidden inside were amazing.
Next stop was Stoney Creek ON where we had some pretty amazing luck. We found Messengers: Billy Green, Messengers: Laura Secord, Sky Puppies #1, Sky Puppies #2, and Little Box of Firsts. The sites for all of these boxes were definitely worth the drive and our new log book is already looking pretty darn good.
We checked in at the Super 8 in Grimsby ON and had a really delicious supper at Bogey's in the Casablanca Inn next door.
Stay tuned for Day 2 of our mini-letterboxing-vacation-adventure.
