Movie Review: Connie and Carla (2004)

Review: Connie and Carla - Slant Magazine

I love really goofy movies with really goofy twists.  Connie and Carla fit that description perfectly.  Nia Vardalos (who I loved in My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Toni Collette (also very loved especially in Little Miss Sunshine) play two very unsuccessful singers who witness a mob hit.  They flee for their lives and end up in LA working in a cabaret.  A very special cabaret . . .

So they play two women pretending to be men, dressing like women.  Goofy!

But if you are looking for goofy you should check it out.
